Complete the exercise on pages 105–106 in the textbook: “Exercise: To Whom Should You Delegate?” Create a pattern of delegation by matching employees and assignments in a manner that appears to make the best use of each person’s capabilities. In a sentence or two, provide a brief rationale for your decision, and support it with best practices (e.g., looking upward and downward as a personal approach to delegation).
Part 2
Complete the exercise on pages 141–142 in the textbook: “Exercise: The Effectiveness Checklist.” Provide honest, self-searching responses to each of the issues below, and then comment on the most important thing you learned from this exercise.
Briefly describe some of the common barriers to effectiveness that you have experienced.
If you were a healthcare supervisor, what does the survey say about your planning and goal setting skill? What does it say about your time management practices?
Where do you think you need improvement, and what are you proficient in?
Finally, discuss stress, how it affects you, and healthy ways to cope with it.
For Part 1, list the function(s) assigned to a person on the first line, and then provide the rationale on the next line(s). Use standard paragraph format for Part 2.
