A Living and Nursing Homes. Research in your area how much is needed for these types of places. When you are searching for this type of housing, consider the star rating of each facility. Those with a lower star rating might be more of this living off of state funds and unable to pay. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but the service and care received may not be what you are looking for. Provide me with some basic information that you learn about each facility and what the costs are.
Discuss how our current situation with COVID-19 has affected this population. Many nursing homes are on lock down and residents are not allowed to see and visit with their family. How has this affected their health and mental well-being. What do you think, if anything could be done to support this population during this time. Even without this virus, many live isolated and do not have family visiting.
Lastly, research Funeral Expenses. How much does an average funeral cost, burial at a cemetery, or cremation? Do you have funds set aside for this? Does your family know what your wishes are? Have you thought about filing a living will, do you want a DNR? These are important questions to consider and discussions to have with your family and loved ones. Do you know there wishes? Discuss with me some of your thoughts and plans on these type of questions.
