Topics and issues for the project must be related to gender, race, ability, social class, and sexuality.
1. Topic: Body Image
(Remember you will have to apply gender, race, and class to the overall topic)
2. Research:
Conduct research on the topic that you selected. Provide background information and a summary of major issues about the topic.
3. Describe and discuss 3* examples of intersectionality as it relates to the topic. (e.g., if your topic is health care-discuss how the intersection of race/ethnicity, gender, AND social class result in different experiences for individuals and groups.). At least 1 of the examples should also include a “solution” or intervention for the issue/problem.
4. Reference at least 3 scholarly journal articles in your presentation.
5. Reference at least 3 readings from Race, Class, and Gender in the United States.
Credible Internet Resources-locate news stories, charts, tables, graphics articles, organizational pages, etc. that include appropriate information for the topics/issues.
Media Research-locate video clip(s) from the news or other credible sources (e.g., documentaries) that illustrate the topic/issue and intersectionality. Videos shown in class or provided in Modules are not options for this requirement. 2-3 video clips max. Total time for all videos should not exceed 3.5 minutes.
Use any recourses for Intersectionality on Body Image related to gender, race, ability, social class, and sexuality.
