Chose your topic and write a clear summary of the text. A good summary describes the core of the argument while avoiding secondary details. Your summary must also show that what the author is offering is not a set of disconnected conclusions, but an argument.
OR
Offer a personal assessment of one of the texts. Give reasons for what you state, don’t merely state it. In other words, the argument you offered in the summary part of this paper must be met, not with mere agreement or disagreement, but with another argument.
OR
Evenly divide the material between a text summary and personal reflection (e.g. in a 5 page paper, 3 for a summary and 2 for a reflection is acceptable. 4 and 1 or vice versa is not.) Clearly indicate when you are summarizing the text and when you are reflecting on it. Plus show how they are connected.
