1. Choose one of the cases in chapter 6 or 7 of your textbook, Mental Health in Social Work, and briefly discuss the symptoms that would meet the criteria for Bipolar Disorder or Depressive Disorder. It would be helpful to refer to the DSM-5 book as well. Matthew 19:26 (NIV) states, “Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’” How could you use this Scripture to help you work with the client in this case?
2. People with Eating Disorders tend to be underdiagnosed and undertreated. Discuss why you believe this happens and how you could create more awareness and treatment for these disorders. What scriiptures could be used to help clients that struggle with Eating Disorders?
3.Discuss what focus areas a social worker should review prior to making a diagnosis of Oppositional Defiant Disorder or Conduct Disorder and why. Both of these disorders present with symptoms of anger. What scriiptures about anger could help you with working with clients with these disorders?
