Meta-analysis Research Project
This meta-analysis project is our semester long project that will culminate with you submitting a research paper and presenting your research to a panel. A meta-analysis is when research is conducted by researching previously completed research. Another way of looking at this, is to say that when data is combined from existing research, new conclusions can be drawn. This is going to be you task over the course of this semester.
At first, this seems like a daunting task. However, every journey starts with small steps in the direction we need to travel. To that end, we are going to subdivide the tasks required to get us started. You’ll notice that there are several assignments drop offs below that we will use to help us progress.
Your first step is to think of a biology or health related topic that interests you and that you think you would like to research. For now, that topic might be quite broad, but it will get refined so that you have a singular focus to your research for the term. As we prepare to write, I will provide you with an example of a good and a bad research paper to help you understand the difference between “writing for English class” and “Science writing”.
Hypothesis of paper
If physical therapy is implemented early and regularly in patients with parkinson’s disease, then they will have a prolonged quality of life (delayed severity of symptoms associated with parkinson’s).
