COURSE: Leadership Development for Healthcare Professionals
Throughout this course, students will engage in self-reflection and peer support to evaluate their performance against the expected knowledge, skills, attitudes, and competencies for professional nurses. Based on this evaluation, students will identify developmental needs and develop strategies to facilitate growth and development in these areas. The identified developmental needs and strategies will be integrated into a formal leadership development plan.

The leadership development plan should contain the following sections (Use these sections as headings in your paper):
1. introduction and background, leadership development strengths and needs (BACKGROUND OF ME, I am a military army veteran of 8 years with deployments to iraq/afghanistan as a human resource specialist. I was a sergeant.)
2. leadership goals and strategies to meet the goals
3. conclusion
Students should include at least 3 measurable goals, with time frames (e.g., by the end of the year, year 1 after graduation, year 5 after graduation), and at least 3 strategies for each goal.
When writing the paper, include the goals and strategies in the same section. Write goal 1 and then directly under goal 1, list at least 3 strategies you will use to achieve goal 1 (use bullet points or numbers when listing your strategies). Then, write goal 2 and underneath goal 2 list at least 3 strategies you will use to meet goal 2, and so on till you have listed all your goals/strategies.
Paper should be limited to 6 or less, double spaced pages, 1″ margins, 12-point font, not including reference page.
