In Week 1, you chose a psychological theory of interest for your research on lifespan development. In Week 3, you identified the developmental group or age group that you will be focusing on as a career.
This week you will be combining your discussions from Weeks 1 and 3 to assess the fit of your chosen theory with the age group of interest. This should be a thorough analysis of the theoretical perspective as it applies specifically to the age group you will be working with.
For example, if you have chosen to focus on Piaget’s Cognitive Theory of Development and you are interested in researching adolescence, you will describe the Formal Operational stage of cognitive development and how an in-depth understanding of the cognitive processes for this age group will benefit your career.
Analyze how your chosen theory from Week 1 and your chose age group from Week 2 relate to one another.
