HERE IS AN EXAMPLE OF A POST FROM A CLASSMATE. THIS IS JUST A SIMPE ESSAY TO WRITE. FOR REFERENCE I AM 44 YEARS OF AGE.

EXAMPLE: I interviewed one of my really good friends, who was 20 when 9/11 happened. He was from Manhattan and was one of the last people to get on the subway before it shut down, when the second tower fell. The very next day, he made the decision to go and sign up for the US Military, and within a week, he was on his way to go train to be a Marine. He served in Iraq for nearly 12 years before he got injured badly enough to have to go back home. He made the decision that he could no longer call Manhattan home after bearing witness to what he had saw, and decided to make Tennessee his new home.

I always knew from reading and witnessing it, on TV while eating lunch with my classmates in the second grade, that it was bad even though I did not fully grasp what had happened. It was not until I was older, and met my friend, and heard all of his stories, that I truly began to understand. He told me that it was the one time in his life that he felt as if the media underplayed the entire situation for those who were in the city that day, either it be people who lived or worked there, or those who were on vacation there, and that it was way worse than they let on. A few months ago, we traveled to the Alcatraz East Museum in Pigeon Forge, and unbeknownst to us, they had a 9/11 Exhibit. It was the first time he had been anywhere near anything that had items from that day. In the ten years that he has been in my life, I never saw him shed a tear until that day.

If I personally were to turn my friends story into any art medium, I would turn it into a play. 9/11 can be a touchy subject because to some, it is still a sensitive subject, but I feel like it needs to start being expressed more in modern media so we can pay homage to those who were there, the ones who lost their lives, and those who put their lives on the line, and still are, for our country.
