This lab uses graphs of displacement, velocity, and acceleration versus time to illustrate one-dimensional kinematics

By the end of this lab you will learn:

Describe a straight-line graph in terms of its slope.
Determine average velocity or instantaneous velocity from a graph of position vs. time.
Determine average or instantaneous acceleration from a graph of velocity vs. time.
Derive a graph of velocity vs. time from a graph of position vs. time.
Derive a graph of acceleration vs. time from a graph of velocity vs. time
Materials: Stopwatch, Pencil, Graph paper, Calculator, Eraser, and wonderful yourself!

Part I: Find your speed:

Step 1: Mark the floor with a Distance lets say: 300 cm
Step 2: Take a timer app and measure the time (t) in seconds to walk 300 cm, covert the distance to meters.
Step 3: You have Distance from Step 1, Time (t) in seconds from step 2, Find your Velocity (v)
Part II: Find time you will take to walk form Utica train station to MVCC

Step 4: Distance between Utica train Station and MVCC is = 2.6 miles
Step 5: You have Distance = 2.6 miles, and Velocity from step 3, Solve Velocity = Distance / Time for time and find duration of your walk, Convert time from seconds to minutes.
