Overview
Overview of American Factory Documentary.
This paper is an assessment of your understanding and ability to apply the principles in the text and class materials. No outside research is needed. Your analysis of American Factory will be unique based on your views of the documentary and the concepts you choose to analyze. The discussions and previous assignments will help you structure this paper.
Task
Step One: Watch American Factory
As you view American Factory take notes about scenes that exemplify concepts from the textbook. Concepts such as collectivism/individualism, ethnocentrism, stereotypes, and culture shock.
Step Two: Write a paper applying the concepts you have learned during the quarter to the interactions in the documentary. The paper is divided into three parts.
Part One: The first part of your paper is a synopsis or overview of the documentary and the concepts you will cover in the second section. In this paragraph or two you will share your opinion or reflections of the documentary. In your own words you will state what stood out to you from American Factory. (100-200 words).
Part Two: The next part of the your paper will address four different general or specific theories, concepts, or key words from the textbook or class materials. To thoroughly cover each concept will require a reference to class material (probably a definition) and one or two specific examples from the documentary supported by your analysis or interpretation of the example.
