This is an essay that will take a stance on the current restrictions that the U.S. government has on the media in regards to the pictures that they take in war [specifically of the dead]. This is because the current restrictions that the U.S. government has are absurd since the government requires written permission from the soldiers before they are wounded to photograph them afterwards. Either way, the public is denied the opportunity to see the real cost of war, which is what you should argue in this essay. (A good example of a controversy that my professor told me was that there was a lot of controversy with the media trying to show a mortally wounded U.S. Marine being shown bleeding to death on the side of the hill) Try to get around 10 sources (i have uploaded 6 sources in the files dropbox and have an additional 4 sources listed below as well), you MAY use these sources if you find them helpful, otherwise, you may use different sources also, or you could use a combination of the sources that I provided [if they are good sources in your opinion] and different sources that you find as well, do what makes you feel comfortable.
The format of the essay should be this [as specified by my professor]:
Adress the question.
Amplify. (Flesh out your thesis, idea).
Why is it Important? (Why should we care? This will provide the context for the reader)
Argument. (Sequential thinking required. Most important, most persuasive facts in descending order.)
Alternative Thesis? (I could always be wrong, so address an alternate idea/thesis)
Summary. (Summarize the most important points).
Here are the four website sources (the other 6 sources are articles that I have uploaded in the dropbox):
