Listen: Principles of Design Instructions
Step 1:

Review the six works of art in the LISTEN to the Experts Table media presentations (next slide). Listen to the experts as they discuss each work.

Step 2:
Choose two works from the LISTEN to the Experts Table. Find still shots of the works to save to your desktop. You must only select artworks from this table. In an MS word document include both images (1 MB each max).

Under each image, answer the following questions. You should number your answers to correspond to the numbers below:

The title of the work and the artist. (Titles of artworks are capitalized and always italicized or in quotation marks.)
Describe what you see in the artworks that you can name. If you see un-namable shapes or objects (abstract objects), describe their colors, line quality, texture, shadows, variety, etc. Please write a full paragraph (5-7 complete sentences) for this prompt.
Which Principle of Design is most obvious to you in each work? Why? Describe how and where you see this element in the work of art. Please write 3-5 full sentences.
Only one answer is required for this final question:

Compare/Contrast: Describe how each artwork uses the Principles of Design similarly and differently (compare and contrast the Principles of Design you see in each artwork). Please write a full paragraph (5-7 complete sentences) for this prompt.
