1) Review the NCSS Themes of Social Studies https://www.socialstudies.org/national-curriculum-standards-social-studies-chapter-2-themes-social-studies#1 (Links to an external site.)
From the list of themes, choose one (excluding #4).
Select a topic that incorporates your theme. This will be the topic for your slide deck or prezi.
Include a brief descriiption and rationale on your first slide – what is your series about? why did you select this topic and these resources?
Once you’ve chosen your theme and topic, select a grade level based on the Ohio Learning Standards for Social Studies that could be integrated. [use Ohio’s Learning Standards for Social Studies (revised 2018)]. (Links to an external site.) Select just a few learning standards to address with your ‘Performing Arts Series’
2) Using the structure of the “Songs of Black Hope and Resistance” Series, create your own ‘Performing Arts Series” by developing a prezi or slide deck that includes links to resources and videos that could be used for middle childhood students in your social studies classroom.
Be sure to include a selection of resource links – videos, music, speeches, performances, etc. You need at minimum of 5 links. Make sure your resources are connected to your topic and theme.
Include a reflection assignment for your students that aligns with your Performing Arts Series and is appropriate for the grade level and topic.

Create PPT, and you can add appropriate video and music links at will. The source is not limited, but it needs to be noted.
