Another possibility: Food Force, if you can find it archived online. In the game, you are part of an expert team trying to remedy global hunger and reestablish an impoverished country. Each game should take about an hour to complete. Upon completion, prepare a report that includes the following: 1. A brief introduction to the game you chose (1/2 to 1 page); 2. A brief discussion of the policy issue the game is addressing (1-2 pages). This should include a basic snapshot of the issue, that captures the severity and scope of the issue, as well as an overview of existing policy responses. There are a number of outlets that provide this sort of information, including national statistics bureaus, international organizations, think tanks, and media; 3. An overview of the role you were playing (1/2 page); 4. Game outcomes (1/4 to 1/2 page); 5. Policy recommendations based on the insights that the role you were playing provided. ., what sorts of policies would help low income families? What sorts of responses do we need to address a pandemic? Etc. Remember to discuss these recommendations with respect to what currently exists. What is currently in place? Is this working?
