elements in order to arrive at the theme of the story. For example, what is the theme(s) of One
Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich? Then you need to argue what that theme is and show how the
author uses elements such as characterization, setting, and imagery in order to support that
theme. Use 2-3 outside sources to support your claims and analysis.
