This 45-page (1200-1500 word) paper should address the following prompt: How has
“conditional citizenship” been established and reproduced over time in the United States?
Support your thesis with specific, cited evidence from at least two different chapters in Lalami,
Conditional Citizens and at least two different weekly
presentations.
Your paper should include all the elements of an academic paper, including an introduction that
includes a thesis, body paragraphs that present and analyze specific and relevant evidence,
smooth transitions that link one body paragraph to the next, and a conclusion that reflects upon
