Create a presentation that focuses on reducing health disparities in the United states and how this relates to increasing social justice awareness. Create a program or policy that will reduce the prevalence of a health concern or disparity among a specific demographic. This project should include either an informational poster, newsletter or short commercial recording that could be distributed to the general population to inform the audience on your program and its significance. You will also create presentation using Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Slides or Prezi, which includes the following information: 1. Identify an existing problem, your target population, and a venue of interest. You might be interested in behaviors that you might want to increase or decrease for example, exercise, STD prevention, nutrition, sleep habits, the availability of clean drinking water, or cancer screenings. There are numerous topics that can be researched. Your population of interest could be for example children, adult males, adult females, or the elderly etc… You also need to define your venue of interest. For example, a school, a campus, a private work site, etc… 2. Investigate the issue. Create a presentation discussing the history of the health disparity, why you chose this specific population and location to focus your program on. How does this relate to increasing social justice awareness? Also include research that supports this topic or the lack of research. Investigate whether there is a policy associated with the problem you are addressing. If there is a policy associated with the problem please reference it.
