Agreement with Personal Worldview

Major names: Theorists and practitioners who created the model and promoted it. Students are encouraged to have at least two classic names (originators) and at least one contemporary name (who is practicing at the current time)
Major concepts: What terms and theoretical assumptions are associated with the model (explain the terms and assumptions)
Problems: How do problems arise, and how are they maintained?
Change: How does change occur?
Therapist role/stance: What position therapist takes in the session, and how this influences the relationship with the client.
Techniques/methods: Techniques, questions, tasks, or homework that therapist uses in order to facilitate change.
Assessment: What are the ways that therapist collects information (e.g. genogram, self-report, family structure, observation of family conversation patterns, symptom-focused, etc.) and what information therapist is paying attention to (interactions, structure, balance, communication).
Problems you see with the theory: Note any potential problems you see with the theory.
Anything else worth noting: What things were of interest to you as you read about the model.
Agreement with Personal Worldview: The extent to which the models perspective is compatible with your personal view of the world, of people, and of the change process. 0 = no agreement/completely incompatible, and 5 = complete agreement/highly compatible. Provide an explanation of what aspects of the model agree and disagree with your personal worldview. Briefly explain the ways in which your personal worldview is similar and different from that of the identified model (i.e., explain your rating).
