Be sure to consult the syllabus for the instructions on exactly what to include! Pay attention to the formatting requirements (font, font size, descriiptive title) and make sure to note the chapter # the information is coming from in the 1st paragraph. Note: DO NOT just reiterate an example from the discussion board. These should be unrelated to, or completely different than, your posts. Off-limits topics: prenatal diagnostic tests, puberty, Alzheimer’s/Parkinson’s, organized sports, animism, pragmatics/electronic communication, types of intelligence, adult attachment styles, intersex, transgender, parenting styles, cross-gender friendships, and euthanasia. If you complete the paper on a topic that overlaps with a Discussion Board topic, you will receive a zero. You should get a confirmation email from ECN that it was successfully submitted – if you don’t, CHECK on ECN that it was successfully uploaded! Mac users: make sure it’s in a format I can open using a PC (.doc or .docx format, not .pdf or .pages) The purpose of these reflection papers is to allow you to tell me about how the lecture/book topics relate to your day-to-day life. Psychology is EVERYWHERE so you should not have a problem writing them. It is my hope that you will actually have fun writing them. For each real-world reflection paper you will tell me about a time when a human development topic tied into your real, everyday life. Note: DO NOT just reiterate an example from the discussion board. These should be unrelated to, or completely different than, the prompts and the posts/responses. Include: Your name (only!) on the top left-hand corner and a centered descriiptive title for the entry (don’t just write RW #__). Each paper will be 1-2 double-spaced pages of content in paragraph form, typed in 12- point Times New Roman font, 1-inch margins. Use correct spelling/grammar! Make sure it’s in a Word document (doc or .docx format) so I can open it. Content for EACH reflection paper: 1 st part/paragraph – The COURSE INFORMATION: Choose a specific concept or phenomenon from the textbook/lectures to which you can relate. Include the chapter # from which it was noted. Describe it fully using the course material as well as your own words. Provide any additional relevant details or information to clarify the concept/phenomenon. 2 nd part/paragraph – The STORY: Fully describe how you experienced this concept/phenomenon in your own life. It could be a story about something that happened in your daily activities (personally, your kids, babysitting, etc.) or how you recognized this concept from the media (movie, book, tv show). 3 rd part/paragraph – The TIE-IN: Discuss how/why your real-world experience made you think of the concept/phenomenon or vice versa. Also discuss whether the book explanation was true/correct regarding your experience (i.e., did you experience match what and how it was described in the textbook?). Feel free to include how you felt and what you thought about the experience, as well as any other information that you think is interesting. **Remember, you will be discussing DIFFERENT times that you had a real-world experience tie into a course concept/phenomenon. Each entry should be related to a different topic from the book but they don’t necessarily have to be from separate chapters. Again, no overlap with a discussion board topic!** References Santrock, J. W. (2018). A Topical Approach To Life-Span Development 9th Edition
