African peoples were pulled into the European wars of the early twentieth century, namely World War I and World War I. How did these conflicts affect African peoples in colonized countries? Were these conflicts influential in bringing about the independence era that followed World War II? You may consider Africa as a whole and/or focus on one or two African countries in particular.
