You will complete a library search for a minimum of 4 current peer reviewed nursing journal articles in the area of concern. Other information used in your paper can be from non-nursing peer reviewed health related journals or a highly reliable evidence-based website such as the CDC.gov or NIH.gov. The evidence used must be carefully reviewed and summarized using the following questions as a guideline: What is known about the geriatric syndrome? What does the current research tell us? What are the best practices suggested to manage the syndrome for the aging population? Will the evidence help in caring for patients? After completing the library research and integrating the evidence, the final section of the paper will include a description of how you would implement best practices into a geriatric clinical care setting. Discuss briefly how using best practices based on current nursing literature impacts nurses, patients, and families.
