Was there anything surprising or particularly compelling? What do you take issue with?
Bring in some key ideas or arguments from the required academic readings (the ones listed in the syllabus) and explain how they relate to the article. Some potential things to consider are: How does this article extend some of the academic themes or concepts we are encountering? Are these ideas supporting one another, or are they in opposition? What is the significance of how they intersect?
Describe an example which illustrates some of these relationships. Your example can, but does not have to be, the same medium/context or follow the same historical trajectory as the medium/context under study in that week. For example, if you were writing a response in our week on viewing, you can certainly write about TV or film, but your example could also be about journalism or blogging or emoji, etc. It’s up to you—use whatever you feel is a convincing and connected example.
Your responses should be balanced between these three elements.
