How can we as teachers help the creative curriculum? Bye limited what we use for the creative curriculum. I believe that every teacher that works with a creative curriculum should have a meeting with the parents to figure out what works with creativity and what doesn’t work with creativity. Talking to other teachers about working with creativity we all have the same problem. After having conversations with other coworkers we all came up with the same solution: that a creative curriculum does not prepare preschool kids to go to kindergarten. As a parent and a teacher, we should be asking the question: what is my child learning from the creative curriculum, and will my child be ready to go to kindergarten next year. As working for the school district I have learned that the creative curriculum is a curriculum that they use in preschool. This curriculum may not suit every child’s needs or how every child learns. It also does not give him the learning that they need especially if there is a kid who needs more help than others. Every teacher’s creative curriculum for preschool has not met the standard that some students need to be prepared to go to kindergarten. The creative curriculum is based on what the child wants to do and not on what the child needs for example if you were to call a student over and tell them they’re going to practice their name and they have to stop playing they can tell you no and you would have to say Okay and go on to the next kid but what if your whole class doesn’t want to learn then ask the teacher what should you do. As a teacher, how can I give my kids a great education when some of them are afraid to question the curriculum or are afraid to get fired. Or should we ask teachers and parents to say something and not let our kids get passed through the system without learning anything. As a teacher’s assistant, I have seen a lot. I’ve also seen preschool schools cut corners just to keep their quota and their budget. As teachers and assistants, we need to focus on fixing the problem with creativity or finding a whole nother curriculum that is teaching our kids better. They say that preschool is supposed to give our kids a head start with kindergarten but working with creativity is never going to happen. That’s just showing our kids if they say no then they don’t have to do it. And that is not how the real world works. I believe that some schools are very comfortable where they are with a creative curriculum. And they’re not willing to change the curriculum because they are comfortable with it. A creative curriculum gives teachers a teaching strategy that doesn’t help teach kids anything. I mean I get that the kids are supposed to learn through play but what are they learning? It does not provide a learning atmosphere for the kids. So what is a creative curriculum? It is pretty much a curriculum that’s based on whatever the teacher wants to teach. Yes, it gives you a guideline book and a curriculum but really what is a creative curriculum? There is no structure or any type of learning method is just that the kids can play and go to different centers. So often created curriculum means students enter a classroom to socialize with kids that are their age. Send me it just sounds like we are a big daycare center with the state backing us and they had to pick a curriculum that would help for funding. Now the creative curriculum has activities that you can use which include drawing, dancing, and playing with blocks.In my opinion, I do not think a creative curriculum should be the main curriculum I think we should choose a different curriculum for preschool kids. I believe a creative curriculum should be a break for the kids to have fun from a great curriculum that they could use. For example, Tools of the Mind is a great curriculum. I have worked with that curriculum for six years and it teaches the children a lot. Your lesson plan is based on actual jobs, for example, say your theme is community workers you would turn your classroom into a hospital and kids will learn how the hospital work, and instead of them going to play they have to write or draw a picture to show you what they’re going to do in the center.Now do not get me wrong creative curriculum does have its advantages with its teacher strategy to help kids to get along with each other and learn how to share but it does not teach the children how to problem-solve. However, creativity has more disadvantages and advantages to help kids, especially Behavior kids. There is no structure for the behavior of kids. There’s just a quiet corner that does not work or does not give the children the help they need. The creative curriculum does not offer any type of help for children that are struggling; it just passes his number to the next grade and it becomes somebody else’s problem. Creativity is the main focus in the preschool curriculum but it needs to cater to every individual child and what they need and creativity does not give that. I believe that they need to take a poll to see how much creative curriculum helps kids when they go to kindergarten or does it hinder kids.In conclusion, doing this paper helped me realize that the creative curriculum is the worst curriculum I ever worked there in school. I have worked in a lot of preschool settings. And with most of them saying they did a creative curriculum they will take bits and pieces out of it and work around it. Now you have the current School District that I work for and they follow a creative curriculum down to the wire. They are focused on the main part of creativity and that is the children playing and interacting with their classmates and if they learned something so be it but that is the main focus of a creative curriculum. As a student that is going to school to be a teacher, I don’t know if I can get behind something like that. I want my class to succeed and their education, especially those going to kindergarten, so do I do what most teachers do and go for a paycheck, or do I follow my heart and make sure my kids get the best education possible and worry about the consequences later. I truly believe in my mind that this is the worst curriculum that has ever been made.From my point of view, I do not think a creative curriculum needs to be the main curriculum, it needs to partner up with a different curriculum. Or just take certain things out of it that you can use to help children. And as a parent as well as a teacher we need to ask the important questions: what are my kids learning with a creative curriculum and is there a better way for them to learn. Will creative curriculum hurt my kid in the long run or will they help my kids?
