The purpose of this assignment is for you to begin to describe and discuss your own approaches to agency-based clinical social work practice, using one or (at most) two of the following theories: Cognitive/Behavioral, Narrative, Emotion-Focused, Experiential/Gestalt, Ego Psychology, Self Psychology, or Object Relations Theory.
A “trauma-informed” perspective can be used in conjunction with any of the models listed here. You may list all the theories you use but should only focus in depth on one or two of them from SW 630 and SW 639 in this paper.
NOTE: Other models from your foundation practice classes (SW 505 and SW 506) are not acceptable for this assignment.

Your paper should be 4-6 pages in length and follow the outline below:
1. Overview of Your Theory/Theories for Practice
What theory/theories do you use for assessment in your work with clients?
What are the major concepts and assumptions that are associated with the theory/theories you use?
How does/do your chosen theory/theories define the goals and plans for intervention?
What is the role of the worker in your theory/theories for practice?
What are the social work values, contained in the Code of Ethics, which are consistent with your theory/theories for practice?
How does/do your theory/theories address any forms of oppression that your clients have experienced in their lives?
2. Strengths and Limitations
With what kinds of clients/problems/situations does/do your theory/theories for practice work best?
With what kinds of clients/problems/situations is/are your theory/theories not suitable?
3. Cross-Cultural Considerations
What modifications have to be made when you work with clients of different gender, race, ethnicity, class, age, mental or physical capacity, religion, or sexual orientation?
This is a research paper and you are expected to use only scholarly sources, including at minimum five (5) outside, scholarly references in addition to any class material.
Clarity of Writing and Proper APA Format: Paper should be well organized with title page and appropriate use of headings and subheadings, be free of spelling and grammatical errors, contain correctly cited references within the paper and at the end, and meet the minimum page requirements.
