Leaders and employees will have to spend a lot of time interviewing individuals to gain information or reading reviews and feedback written out. This takes significantly longer than running and reviewing data. This would need to be much ore carefully analyzed and sorted through to get what is needed out of the research. Surveys can be given to collect data with questions like “Rate this item on a scale from 1-10.” or “Rank these features 1-5 from best to worst.” Then, these can be calculated to provide you with data proof of consumer opinions. 1. The advantages of Quantitative research methods Contrary to qualitative research, quantitative research can be analyzed in a much quicker amount of time as typically the numbers can be put into a computer and the data can be back to you within minutes. TIme interviewing and reading is not required as you would typically just be analyzing numbers. disadvantages of Quantitative research methods The biggest disadvantage of quantitive research is that it is less detailed. You will be provided with what customers like and do not like but there will no explanation as to why they said this. This can make it more difficult to change things correctly in the way a consumer may desire. When moving into a new international market, this can be even more risky as you may come across cultural differences that you would not be able to see in the form of quantitative research.
