Discuss the research method for Qualitative Qualitative methods are made out of numbers but rather of descriptions, metaphors, symbols, quotes, analysis, concepts and characteristics. It uses interviews, written text, art, photos, and other “thick” materials to make sense of human experiences and to understand what these experiences mean to people. They accept that it is impossible to be completely objective in observing phenomena: people come with their own thoughts, attitudes, experiences, and beliefs about things, and they always color how we interpret the things that happen around us (emily swaim,2020). Qualitative helps understand the changes and the conflict in the human environment. They allow data and new ideas. 1. The Advantages of Qualitative research methods Qualitative research is often used to conduct social and behavioral studies because human interactions are more complex than molecular reactions in a breaker. A big advantage of qualitative research is the ability to deeply probe and obtain rich description data about social phenomena through structured interviews, cultural immersion, case studies and observation. 2. The Disadvantages of Qualitative research methods Qualitative studies often take more time to complete due to the pain staking nature of gathering and analyzing field notes, transcribing interviews, identifying themes and studying photographs, for instances. Discuss the research method for Quantitative Research Quantitative methods are about measuring phenomena, not explaining them. Most social and human quantitative research compares two groups of people on interesting variables: do men and women react to criticism differently? These comparisons are generally using graphs, pie charts, and other visual representations that give the analyst a sense of how the various data points relate to one another. The quantitative methods have all sorts of variables you could measure, and many kinds of experiments to run using quantitative methods. 1. The Advantages Quantitative research methods A problem or question is examined by deductively forming a hypothesis derived from theory. Controlled, objective testing and experimentation ultimately supports or rejects your hypothesis. Quantitative research is advantageous for studies that involve numbers, such as measuring achievement gaps between different groups of things. 2. The Disadvantages Quantitative research methods While quantitative research methods work well in the laboratory under tightly controlled conditions, measuring phenomena like human behavior in a natural setting is tricky. Another disadvantage is that quantitative research involves numbers, but some topic are too difficult to quantify in numbers. Reference: respond with a 100 commenting on the post 2. The second posting was : Discuss the research method for Qualitative Research Qualitative research is research conducted through communication rather than through data. Qualitative research can be conducted by asking open ended questions, asking people to write reviews or their feedback, etc. Interviews and case studies can be conducted in order to gather qualitative research as well. You can ask how an individual feels about a product and why they feel this way. Questions like “how has this product benefitted your life”, “why do you feel this way?”, or “is there anything you do not like about this product? If so, why?” 1. The advantages of Qualitative research methods There are many advantages to utilizing qualitative research methods. This would be beneficial to getting precise feedback from consumers as to why or why not they liked or disliked a product. This feedback could then be used in the future when enhancing current offerings or creating new products and services. Qualitative research is also very detailed pinpointing exact pro’s and con’s. disadvantages of Qualitative research methods In my opinion, the main disadvantage to qualitative research is that it is very time consuming. Leaders and employees will have to spend a lot of time interviewing individuals to gain information or reading reviews and feedback written out. This takes significantly longer than running and reviewing data. This would need to be much ore carefully analyzed and sorted through to get what is needed out of the research. Discuss the research method for Quantitative Research Quantitative research is based on numbers and percentages. It is more logic based than opinionated and is typically data driven. Surveys can be given to collect data with questions like “Rate this item on a scale from 1-10.” or “Rank these features 1-5 from best to worst.” Then, these can be calculated to provide you with data proof of consumer opinions. 1. The advantages of Quantitative research methods Contrary to qualitative research, quantitative research can be analyzed in a much quicker amount of time as typically the numbers can be put into a computer and the data can be back to you within minutes. TIme interviewing and reading is not required as you would typically just be analyzing numbers. disadvantages of Quantitative research methods The biggest disadvantage of quantitive research is that it is less detailed. You will be provided with what customers like and do not like but there will no explanation as to why they said this. This can make it more difficult to change things correctly in the way a consumer may desire. When moving into a new international market, this can be even more risky as you may come across cultural differences that you would not be able to see in the form of quantitative research.
