(https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/data/database), and assess, analyses and describe a specific
area of statistics. i.e. how can businesses benefit from using data from Eurostat and similar in
their decision making? Look at a real organization and examine in detail how they can benefit
from using statistics.
Examine the list of Databases found at https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/data/database. Examine
them and decide which to use for your organization to improve: Predictions, Testing, Forecasts,
Preparedness, Predicting, Political, Insurance, Consumer, Financial and Sports.
How is your organization currently using statistics and what benefits do they achieve by using
statistics? What competitive advantage is the statistics creating? What can they add in statistical
work from using Eurostat databases.
Use knowledge from the course material that interests you. You should combine your thoughtful
analysis of the topic with information from your sources. Please use open sources and/or
interviews. Keep in mind, however, that this is to be an analytical paper, not simply a summary
of your reading and interviews.
Begin doing some preliminary reading about the organization and theoretical framework, for
your assignment early in the term. Your instructor will ask for your topic and possible thesis in
the second half of the course. You must submit to your instructor a one-to-two-page proposal for
your Individual Assignment, latest at the second part of classes. The proposal should suggest
your organization, preliminary findings, interesting aspects and topics, propose an arguable
thesis, and give your instructor some idea of how you intend to research and develop your
project. This proposal is not graded, but you should approach it seriously; it can greatly enhance
your chances for writing a successful essay.

As you prepare your research paper, you also will want to be mindful of the following guidelines:
• Your topic must be related to the course of study and must be approved by your
instructor before submitting a final project. You will have greater success if you select a
topic that interests you and can be applied to your professional/personal life.
• Make sure to write a good concise Thesis Statement.
• Supporting your thesis is central to the task of writing this assignment. In scholarly
writing, you are not merely copying information from another author, but using evidence
to support the contentions you have drawn from your findings from or off the
organization, and critical analysis of related literature. Keep in mind, that this is to be an
analytical or argumentative paper, not simply a summary of your reading and interviews.
• You must cite the sources of all ideas, facts, and information used that are not your own,
even if you have put the information into your own words, that is to paraphrase. Failure
to do so is plagiarism, even if the oversight is unintentional.
• Your sources should be stated in-text and in the bibliography according to Harvard
Style Citation. You can find all you need to know about Harvard Style Citation online.
For the appearance/graphics of the paper, you have more freedom and do not need to
follow Harvard Style.
• All research papers must be in Microsoft Word. The expected length is about 3000-4000
words. Please make use of graphs and tables as appropriate. If using a lot of tables and
data, put in an appendix, if the usage is moderate it works to put it in the paper
embedded in the text. Your academic sources must be of good quality, primary sources
are superior to secondary sources.

Please stick to one organization as a case study, graphs and diagrams are not part of the word count and also reference is not also t. Havard style referencing is accepted only

Results and discussion

In this section, indicate the results as generated from your data analysis. After that, you can discuss the findings by comparing the outcome with other researchers.
