Create a cross-functional business process map (aka Swim Lane Map) by observing the process in your workplace or other place of business using power point. It is important to observe an actual process to have sufficient details for the map and supporting information. Be sure to take note of information exchanges weather automated or manual that move with the flow of the map, you will need them in Part 2. Now that you have completed a process map, make a summary of information flow with annotations on the map that corresponds to a written report. For example, where information is exchanged, passed, or referenced in the process place an information icon on the map with an index number. Do this in part 2 only so as not to clutter the process map submitted in part 1. Create a word document that includes each index number and a brief desсrіption of the information. You should note the type of information, how it is exchanged or referenced, if it is automated or manual, how it is stored (eg filed) and its importance to the process. Finally, provide three recommendations for improving the process with the application of an ERP system. If the process is already supported by an ERP system, list three areas the ERP system benefits the process and explain how. Appropriate icons may include a flat cylinder for a data base, file cabinet for a files system, or document icon when a paper report is created, for examples. Please include a legend to indicate the meaning of your icons. Turn in the updated map, the written explanation of the information flow and the three recommendations/observations in a word document in blackboard.
