Characters, their actions, and their motivations play important roles in almost all literacy fiction.
Choose a character from the story A wicked woman and consider the following questions: What is it that the character wants? Is that different from what he/she needs to become a happy, fulfilled person? What obstacles stand in the way of what the character desires? How does he/she try to overcome those obstacles? How does the characters motivation relate to the theme of the story? In fiction sometimes an object can be especially resonant or important to the story. From one of the story choices choose an object Not a person and consider the following questions: why does the object seem so important? what about the way it is described or the way the characters interact with it make it seem so important? How is the object related to the theme of the story?
