You may choose other interventions that are not on this list, as long as they are not substance use treatment interventions.
Identify at least three peer reviewed articles (see link below) that speak to the effectiveness of your chosen intervention. Then, prepare a PowerPoint presentation in which you respond to the following:
1. Description of the intervention: (25 points) Explain the intervention in enough detail that someone who is unfamiliar with it could have a basic understanding of what it looks like and how it works. Explain how it is applied to substance use treatment. You might include some of the history of the intervention as well.
2. Effectiveness of the intervention (40 points) Synthesize the positions found in your three (or more) sources about the effectiveness of the interventions. For example, Smith and Wesson (1999) and Barnum and Bailey (2018) each found similarities in.). Remember these must be peer-reviewed academic sources. Students often lose points for not using appropriate sources.
3. Recommendations for practice (25 points): What should other counselors know about using this in their practice? Be thorough and specific.
4. References (10 points) in APA Format (both in-text and full references page)
