Part I – Case Study – Community Descriiption – 20 points. 1/2-1 page
Select one case study from the “The Enduring Challenge of Concentrated Poverty in America” report.
Provide a summary of the case that you selected. Include a descriiption of the community, the presenting problem, interventions used, and the effectiveness of the interventions. ALL information must be paraphrased and correctly cited in APA style. Do not use any direct quotes.
Part II – Community – Present Day – 40 points – 1-2 pages
Provided updated information about the community (case study) you selected:
1. Include content between 2010-present
2. Discuss the current poverty rates in the community
3. Identify the causes of poverty in the community
4. Identify interventions that are currently being used to address the problem within the community.
Part III – Evidence-Based Interventions – 40 points – 2-3 pages
Select 3 peer reviewed journal articles, appropriate reports (governmental, organizational) that describe three different interventions that would be appropriate to use to address poverty in the community case study that you selected. Note – the articles or reports selected must provide the information below:
Discuss the following related to each article/report:
– What causes/explanations of poverty did the authors identify?
– Describe the study’s sample and population of focus.
– Describe the intervention and the extent to which the intervention was evidence-based.
– Discuss the study’s findings/results.
– Identify limitations of the study.
– Explain why the intervention would be appropriate to use to address poverty in your selected community case study.
