Apply what you learnt in my class (week 1 to 10) to analyze Amazon (https://www.aboutamazon.com/). You can focus on a few topics or cover a wide range of topics but try your best to go deep and be creative. Here are a few examples:
1. Discuss how Amazon’s stock price moves around recent earnings announcements and provide explanations for such movements
2. Comment on whether current accounting standards produce useful financial numbers to evaluate Amazon’s shares (since IFRS and US GAAP are similar enough in basic concepts, feel free to discuss from IFRS perspective)
3. Comment on Amazon’s executive compensation
• Structure your essay in a way that is easy for the readers to follow. For example, use subtitles and highlights. Tables and graphs are good to have as well.
