Write a reflection on how the character Mary Magdalene demonstrates the historic splits in how women have been viewed in Christianity. How has she been interpreted to be a person of poor reputation? Was this the ancient view of the New Testament? Did the first century church, at least in many of its communities, represent a more radical view of women than the surround Greco-Roman and Jewish communities?
