Locate an instance where a local, or regional, law enforcement agency demonstrated one of the sixty Neutralization techniques (p. 1265, Figure 1) to deny either responsibility for deviant behavior, or deny the deviance of the behavior. The deviant behavior can be perceived or demonstrated as deviant by the media, or the community. You must establish that you, or your source defines the behavior to be deviant. You also need to articulate the technique used by the agency to deny violating the norm.
