(My answer for step 1: I thought I would experience a busy hospital environment where every patient needs pharmacy services. My goal was to learn hospital pharmacy services. My actual experience was exactly what I expected.)
2. Summarize your activities and experiences during the first two (2) weeks of the rotation. (My answer for step 2: My activities were: IV batching and labeling; assembled the IV medication using addEASE binary connector; observed the pharmacist prepare IV medication under the hood; Restocking medications.
3. Describe at least one (1) example of behaviors or characteristics you observed among the pharmacy employees and how they positively or negatively affect the delivery of services. (My answer for step 3: The pharmacy staff worked together professionally and cooperatively.)
4. Describe at least one (1) interaction between pharmacy employees and each of the following healthcare professionals: Physician; Nurse. Include your thoughts on what you expected to see as compared to how the interaction actually occurred, a descriiption of the outcome and your thoughts on how the interaction could have been improved. (My example for step 4: The pharmacy staff communicated with the nursing and physician staff all day to clarify orders.)
5. Identify at least one (1) area of pharmacy practice you participated in that was covered in pharmacy coursework during your pharmacy coursework. (My answer for step 5: I learned the USP 797 gowning and donning requirements and garbing order, I utilized this in the rotation
6. Identify specific goals for the final two (2) weeks of the rotation. (My answer for step 6: My goal is to learn and experience all aspects of hospital pharmacy activities.)
