1. The essay argues that people use claims of “fake news” to discredit the opposing side while hiding their own partisanship by claiming that their side is the “objective” (i.e. “true”) one. However, the “objectivity standard” is itself a false one. It allows one side to dismiss the other’s side as fake and partisan, while pretending that its side is natural, true, and objective (i.e. non-partisan). 2. To find out how mainstream media used rhetoric to hide or deplatform stories like “The source of COVID-19”, “Hunter biden’s Laptop”, et cetera. For example, such news reporting always use “authenticity and origin have not been determined”, “controversial”, “unevidenced”, “misleading”, or “unsubstantiated”. 3. The rhetoric has an objective word-using in nature, but what they did was to hinder the information to be spread, in the name of “fack checking”. That somehow achieves the effect of speech policing, not journalism.
