1. Create a patient. Decide upon gender,age, who makes up their family system and their martial status. Identify the stage of development the patient is in. Are they in basic school, primary or college? Do they have a career are they unemployed or on disability?

3. Choose two area in their physical development to examine and discuss. ( if your patient is adolescent you can discuss neurotransmitters and puberty)
4. Select a theoretical framework to conceptualize the cognitive, social, and emotional areas. Briefly summarize the theories
5. Identify 2 areas in the cognitive, social and emotional areas of development to further explore. Examine these 6 areas of your chosen theory (cognitive development you could expound on your patient motor skills. If you choose psychoanalytic theory you could examine psychosexual stage of development your patient is in
6. Explore the patient primary agent of socialization ( family,peers,school,media) in your patient development process
7. What areas of your patient life can contribute to nature or nurture? Do you see continuity or discontinuity in the patient development process? What normative and nonormative historical events have impacted your patient?
8. Is the patient at age that they can answer questions if so what 5 questions would you ask if not what 5 questions would you ask the caregiver? Defend your choice of questions
9. Discuss your initial clinical impression.(Do you think the patient has a mental health disorder, Autism, living in an abusive home or do you need to rule out a medical condition etc)
10. Discuss 3 potential challenges your patient could face throughout the course of treatment (cant get to doctor no car no money no baby sitter etc)
11. Make 3 referrals and describe why you are making these referral (psychiatrist, Anger management, Family therapy etc)
