WHAT YOU NEED TO DO Identify a recent inquiry (within the past three years or current) undertaken by either the NSW or Federal government. The inquiry that you select should be relevant to social policy and human services. It should not be a Royal Commission. You have two options for this assignment. Choose ONE of these options only. OPTION 1. Review between four and six submissions to your chosen inquiry. Write a review of up to 2,000 words. Your review should: 1. Present the details about the inquiry, including its origin, the committee which is implementing it, its timeframe and purpose. 2. Describe each of the submissions being reviewed including the person/agency who submitted it, the main terms of reference they have addressed and the key arguments that they have made. 3. Discuss the values and ideologies reflected in the submissions. Compare and contrast the different values and ideologies across the different submissions. 4. Identify implications for human services practice in the submissions and draw conclusions about the types of policy and practice changes that might be needed in this area.
