This assignment allows you to view various aspects of victimology in more depth than by just reading the assigned chapters. You’ll be required to reflect on the documentary you view, and you’ll also need to relate the documentary back to the material that has been covered in the course.
For this assignment, choose one of the documentaries provided in the following list:
Mommy Dead and Dearest (Links to an external site.)
Audrie & Daisy (Links to an external site.) (available on Netflix)
Hunting Ground (Links to an external site.)
The Invisible War (Links to an external site.)
Within your reflection, provide a personal reaction regarding the topic presented, as well as a clear discussion about how the topic relates to 4 course concepts. You are encouraged to use chapter readings and Canvas content to support your reaction. You should also find one peer-reviewed journal article that relates to the topic, and provide a clear discussion about the importance of the research reviewed. You are expected to submit college-level work and follow all specifications provided.
Documentary response assignments will be assessed on (1) your personal reaction to the film at hand; (2) relating the film to covered course material; (3) appropriate review of one scholarly article about the type of victimization; and (4) composition and mechanics (i.e., your writing is free of grammatical and spelling errors).
Please note that late assignments will be accepted for scoring only during the seven days immediately following the due date, and they will be assessed a 10-point penalty for each day or portion thereof the assignment is late. This assignment will not be accepted if it is submitted more than one week late.
All documentary responses must adhere to the following specifications:
The paper must be at least 600 words in length. Papers below the required length will be assessed a penalty.
Papers will contain the following sections:
title page,

reaction,
course relation,

reference section.
These assignments require the same APA format (Links to an external site.) requirements.
There must be at least one paraphrased citation in each paragraph of the paper except for the introduction and conclusion. These citations let the reader know the source of the information contained in that paragraph.
Absolutely NO QUOTED MATERIAL FROM THE MOVIE will be used in your paper.
This is NOT a summary of the film. There is an automatic 10% reduction for this infraction. You should be able to demonstrate critical thinking skills about the topic at hand as well as demonstrate your research abilities through finding an appropriate journal article.
