(52 Points) PART 1: Community and External Leadership District-Level Analysis Tool Task: In order to demonstrate you’re capacity to understand and engage families, communities, and other constituents in the work of schools and the district and to advocate for district, student, and community needs (NELP Standard 5), conduct an in-depth analysis of the current structures and strategies in place district-wide that ensure strong family and community engagement. Utilizing the Community and External Leadership District-Level Analysis Tool, consider each engagement strategy and the frequency of use (if any). Within the tool, provide details about the evidence (or lack thereof) for each engagement strategy. Confer with district and school administrators and staff members as needed when completing the analysis tool. PART 2: Written Paper Provide a summary and analysis of you’re findings after completing the Community and External Leadership District-Level Analysis Tool. How does the district cultivate relationships with members of the business, civic, and policy communities in support of there advocacy for district, school, student, and community needs? Identify areas of strength (minimum 2) and areas to target for growth (minimum 2) based upon you’re findings as documented within the Community and External Leadership District-Level Analysis Tool. Within the summary reflection, address the ways in which family and community engagement strategies ensure integrity, fairness, transparency, trust, equity, democracy, inclusiveness, and the belief that each child can learn. How do district norms and expectations for family and community engagement provide a basis for building organizational culture across the district? As a future district leader, how will you strive to incorporate best practices in community and external leadership? Written Paper Requirements The written paper and appendix provide evidence that candidates demonstrate the capacity to lead district strategic planning and continuous improvement processes that engage diverse stakeholders in data collection, diagnosis, design, implementation, and evaluation (NELP ). The narrative and analysis within this paper must be well-written and comprehensive with no grammar or spelling errors.
