1. Capital punishment is the ultimate form of incapacitation. The murderer can’t commit any further crimes if he or she is executed. Is there any value to society in keeping the murderer alive and sentencing murderers to life sentences instead?
2. Explain the differences between standard and special conditions that can be attached to the terms of probation. Provide 2 examples each of standard and special probation conditions.
3. Describe the concept of intermediate sanctions available to a judge. Provide two examples of intermediate sanctions (specific) here in Bexar County/Texas.
4. Why might probation be better for some criminals than incarceration, as far as the community is concerned?
