Dance community: Highland Dancing (Scotland)
You will choose one local dance community and conduct a short ethnographic research study that analyzes their cultural dance form. You must either attend an event within that community or find an online event/livestream or video to observe and assess the dance form’s movement practices.
Once you have observed this community, you will compose an annotated bibliography with scholarly articles found on the chosen dance form that supports your observations. You must include five (5) scholarly resources in this annotated bibliography. Your bibliography should have a detailed summary of the main points of the article, an evaluation of the reliability and usefulness of the source, and a reflection for how it contributes and supports your thoughts on the chosen dance community.
