create a newspaper that could be seen as reflective of the times during the civil war (1860′s). Included in the newspaper should be the political concerns of one’s chosen era, such as political crises and/or military conflicts, political decisions, ethnic and racial concerns/rights, labor struggles, gender concerns, and each newspaper must finally include two ″puff pieces,″ such as sports, entertainment and fashion. As to the length of the newspaper (excluding title, Table of Contents, bibliography pages, and space for images), it must be a minimum of three full pages of text in length (no greater than 12-point font for the general text of the paper). ″References/Chicago Manual of Style″ or APA formats. The rubric calls for five sources, and will accept online sources (except Wikipedia) if they are reliable.
