Discuss on Neurology is, among other things, the study of the biology of the central nervous system (CNS). Psychology, on the other hand, is the study of human behavior, and by inference, the mind. The chapter in your textbook, “The Biological Foundations of Behavior,” spends considerable time focusing on the CNS. It also includes some discussion of the endocrine system. The concluding section is devoted to a consideration of genetics. Most tellingly, this latter section itself concludes with a discussion of the relationship of “Genes and The Environment.” Discuss the assertion that the discussion of genes and the environment might be your author’s attempt at introducing an analogous way to see how neurology relates to psychology. (Hint: In this discussion, think about how the standard model of neural development differs from various models of psychological development.)
