POSTER PRESENTATION
2 page order:
1 page (A3 size) for the Poster, and 1 page (A4 size) of notes in order for me to present the poster to the class.
• A3 Poster – can be brief capturing only major details;
• A4 notes – need to be detailed explanation on each outlines captured in poster.
Will need to demonstrate awareness of how gender equality issues impact development and of gender and development responses and possibilities.
Note:
(i) choosing the issue means looking at the interactions between gender and education, or gender and public leadership, or gender and health, or examining gender-based violence from a specific angle;
(ii) you can also identify an issue combining two areas.
The poster will be one A3 PowerPoint page including data and images (pictures, graphs). You can be creative about the way you present this.
Poster content
• The poster will have to identify the gender equality issue in a specific context (you can choose to keep it general within the South Pacific, or focus on Fiji, or a community within Fiji);
• Identify how it affects the well-being of the region/country/community at large;
• Identify the key concepts of gender and development the issue reverberates with: agency? empowerment? human rights?
• Identify what the gender and development industry has been doing about that (if the issue is not being given enough attention locally, have other countries/regions been acting on that? what approaches are being used?);
• Suggest what you think should/could be done to address this issue (more awareness? if so, how/with whom? more advocacy? any suggestions for specific programmes? what creative tools could you see being used? any suggestions for people who should be involved?).
• Identify two/three works that address the issue theoretically and locally.
• Use relevant images. If you like, you can use personal images (drawings, paintings, pictures).
