When readers come to dissertation, they will not just assume that research or analysis is a good idea; they will want to be persuaded that it is relevant and that it was worth doing. They will ask questions such as: What research question(s) are you asking? Why are you asking it/them? Has anyone else done anything similar? Is research relevant to research/practice/theory in field? What is already known or understood about this topic? How might research add to this understanding, or challenge existing theories and beliefs? A theoretical framework often features as an early section in a dissertation. In a theoretical framework you would include an outline of existing theories which are closely related to research topic. You should make clear how research relates to existing theories. A literature review typically outlines previous studies that have discussed aspects of the dissertation project. It places particular attention on those accounts that are the most significant and/or relevant to chosen topic. It is important that the review demonstrates how research questions were derived and informed. Research questions, if the process has been followed, should fall out of the literature review that you have conducted. The research questions should also have a transparent relationship to what is tested for in the primary data collecting activity. The research questions should be capable of being seen in the research instruments you will be using in your methodology. Another observation for you to consider is dont make the review too descriptive. Take a critical in-depth look at the strengths and weaknesses of the various theories, offer some insight as to their usefulness. Rather than adopting a descriptive approach to the theory try to take a more analytical dimension by agreeing or disagreeing, comparing and contrasting and choosing between theories that differ from one another. Not sure what purpose this section serves it is purely descriptive You set put the following research questions 1. What are the challenges of the current paper-based procurement system? 2. What are the potential challenges for adopting e-procurement? 3. What level of the BPP commitment is required for effective implementation of e-procurement in Nigeria? 4. What are the prospects for implementing e-procurement in the public sector? The review should outline previous studies that have discussed aspects of the dissertation project.
