Often, we find that national news stories may not have much relevance to our local area. A good journalist must learn to take specialized areas and tailor news stories for a local audience. For this week, you will write a news story about a current topic in business or government. You will choose an issue currently featured in the national news and write a 450- to 500-word print story and a three-to five-minute broadcast scriipt about it. You will prepare the story for local news media outlets in your area. These can include your local newspaper and a local radio or television station.
