As you read take notes on the following:
• Describe the learning perspective on personality, including the concepts of self-efficacy, locus of control

• Describe the theories of personality, including the humanistic theory (Maslow & Rogers), temperament, trait theory, and the Big Five

• Discuss personality differences of people from collectivist and individualist cultures and the varying approaches to studying personality (the cultural-comparative approach, the indigenous approach, and the combined approach)

As you listen, take notes on the following:
• What are the differences and similarities among introverts and extroverts
• Why may your (and other’s) personality may be more malleable than people think

Step 3
Write a minimum of 2 paragraphs with the following information:
1st Paragraph
• Describe the learning perceptive of personality including the concepts self-efficacy and locus of control.
• Reflect on your own locus of control from the survey. Did the results surprise you? Why/why not
• You read about several theories, including the humanistic theory (Maslow & Rogers), temperament, trait theory, and the Big Five. Which was your favorite and why?
• Reflect on your BIG Five from the survey. Did the results surprise you? Why/why not
• What are the differences and similarities among introverts and extroverts?
• Why may your (and other’s) personality may be more malleable than people think
• Reflect on your extravert/introvert results from the survey. Did the results surprise you? Why/why not
2nd Paragraph
• Discuss personality differences of people from collectivist and individualist cultures and the varying approaches to studying personality (the cultural-comparative approach, the indigenous approach, and the combined approach)
• How has your culture shaped your personality? Be specific
• How would you describe your own personality? Do you think that friends and family would describe you in much the same way? Why or why not?
