The paper/assignment directions should read: Lots-O-Colors (a fictitious company) is a retail art supplies stores with three locations in the state of Arizona as well as online. The Lots-O-Colors stores also have classes in painting, sculpting, graphic design, and ceramics. In the past two years, the company has experienced shrinking sales and declining revenues in all of their retail stores, while at the same time, inventory costs have been steadily growing. Even though the enrollment in art classes has remained strong, the classes are operated on a break-even basis, so their profitability depends in large part on the volume of supplies that students purchase from the retail or online operation after participating in a class. Online sales continue to grow 2% to 3% each year. The owner has decided to cut 25% of the company’s managerial positions and reassign and reorganize the remaining positions so that the organization still has adequate supervision and control over its employees. This will allow Lots-O-Colors to refocus its efforts on expanding online sales while rebuilding its retail sales operation. The owner has hired you to give her advice about how to proceed. In a paper of at 3-5 pages (excluding the APA formatted title and references pages), describe how you would go about analyzing the organizational hierarchy to make recommendations about which managerial positions should be cut and/or reassigned. What employee screening and assessment will you consider in your analysis? How will you measure job performance and what criteria will you use? What source of performance rating will you be using and what method of rating performance will be applied? What ethical considerations will you and the owner need to keep in mind when making decisions about which managers will lose their jobs? Provide a rationale for your decision-making process and your recommendations to the owner of Lots-O-Colors. For this paper, reference two sources in addition to the required course readings. This paper must be completed in APA format (6th ed.), Times New Roman 12 font, with no quoting, cutting-and-pasting, no bullet points, and no short paragraphs. Paragraphs should be well developed with several sentences (five or more) including an introductory sentence and a transition/concluding sentence.
