Master Plan (COAPRT 7.03.01b, 7.03.02a, 7.03.03):
Each student will complete a fictitious master plan (i.e., recreation management students will select a park and/or recreation project, sport management students will select a sport-oriented project, amateur or professional, and the recreation therapy students will pick a project focusing on the provision of services to clients). The typical contents of a master plan include:
A. Cover Page (0-20 based on professional look and feel)
B. Executive Summary
(0-10 written as introduction rather than summary)
(11-18) Bits or parts in true summary format
(19-20) True summation of the items below
C. Goals and objectives
(0-6) Based on Survey and Demands
(0-6) Based on Supply and Population
(0-8) Based on existing and projected programming
D. Supply analysis
(0-10) Listing of current acreage, facilities, and equipment
(0-10) List of supplies, facilities, equipment needed for project
E. Population analysis (Demographics)
(0-6) Birth rates, death rates, moving in and moving out recorded
(0-6) Difference in ages and life stages noted
(0-8) Population size/composition/distribution/projections given
F. Demand analysis
(0-8) Based on surveys/focus groups/comments/etc.
